so my site

Ive been working on my website for a few weeks now. i think that a lot of people struggle to see why I'm doing it and like what its all about. really i just want a place to link back to with info about myself. this way i can be spread out but have a place to just sorta show who i am and what i do

i was definitely influenced by the twitter communities use of sites to link back to as "about pages", like listography and that junk. most people switched to carrd (a sorta drag and drop webpage creator) and even i used carrd for a short while. but i found it limiting and dumb so i moved past that shit. i knew at the time that Ive seen some people using neocities and actually learning html and putting effort into their "about pages" so i thought id do the same. cuz fuck carrd and listography, i wanna do some shitty fucking html and make a cool site.

so i went with neocities mostly cuz i liked their whole message and agree with it. its actually something i think about every now and then and i think its important. let me lay it out for you, the Internet has become a bleak place for personal pages. social media has pretty much made it so everyone and their dog has a personal page but...theyre all the fucking same really. neocities wants to bring back the creative personal website. like geocities. they give you 1 gb of free storage to go crazy and make whatever the fuck you want

this is the coolest thing ever for me. like holy shit that's fucking cool i can just make whatever the fuck i want???? fuck yeah let me do that shit. so i know like basic html and like no css. so i made a basic centering website. which is neat I'm ok with it. but ive been focused on creating it for the past few weeks now and making it better. adding different pages and shit.

i really just need a site to dump whatever i make onto and i have a feeling that a neocities site will be good for that

in the mean time i need to work on a theme for my site. i want a sidebar and stuff cuz my current theme is kinda eh. mue's site is a personal inspiration so is spriteclad's. so i plan to make something alike those and my page right now is very much based off spriteclads home page. just like a list of links

heres how i want my page to work:

• page opens up with splash screen which requires you to click the image
• opens from there to home page which talks about what the site's for and recent changes to the site
• list of links that go to different pages in a static (doesn't move when you scroll) sidebar on the side

and that's the basic idea. i want the site to run like that with some pages being in different themes depending on what they are.

so i have no fucking clue how to set up the sidebar so like...good luck to me on that one haha
